The Story

Madeira E-Zee Badge Film Patch Making Kit

Create professional embroidered patches, badges, and emblems with Madeira E-Zee Badge Film 100 Micron, the core material used for stand-alone patch embroidery. Choose the badge film by itself, or build a patch making kit by adding E-Zee Heat Seal Nylon or E-Zee Heat Seal Polyester backing in the roll size that fits your production needs.

E-Zee Badge Film is used as the embroidery base for creating the patch. Heat Seal backing is optional and should be added if you want finished patches that can be bonded to garments, hats, bags, uniforms, and accessories. If you plan to sew patches on, the Badge Film Only option may be all you need.

Build Your Patch Making Kit

This product is set up to make ordering simple. Start with the required E-Zee Badge Film, then choose whether you want to add heat seal backing for heat-applied patches.

Step 1

Start with Badge Film

E-Zee Badge Film 100 Micron is the main patch making material. It is hooped by itself and embroidered directly to create stand-alone patches, badges, and emblems.

Step 2

Choose Your Backing

Select Badge Film Only for sew-on patches, or add Heat Seal Nylon or Heat Seal Polyester if you want to create patches with heat-activated adhesive backing.

Step 3

Pick Your Roll Size

Choose a 10-yard backing roll for smaller jobs, testing, or occasional patch making. Choose a 100-yard backing roll for production, repeat orders, or higher-volume patch finishing.

Which Option Should You Choose?

Choose Badge Film Only if you are sewing patches on

Badge Film Only is the best choice when you want to embroider stand-alone patches and attach them later by sewing. This option includes the E-Zee Badge Film 100 Micron roll only.

Choose Badge Film + Heat Seal Nylon for heat-applied patches

Add E-Zee Heat Seal Nylon when you want to create finished patches with a heat-activated backing that can be bonded to garments, bags, caps, uniforms, and accessories.

Choose Badge Film + Heat Seal Polyester for polyester heat seal backing

Add E-Zee Heat Seal Polyester when you prefer a polyester-based heat seal backing for embroidered patches, appliqués, badges, and emblems.

Choose 10 yd for small jobs or 100 yd for production

The 10-yard backing rolls are ideal for testing, smaller jobs, or occasional patch making. The 100-yard backing rolls are better for embroidery shops producing patches regularly.

Available Kit Options

Every kit option starts with E-Zee Badge Film 100 Micron, 19 in x 109 yd. Select Badge Film Only, or add the heat seal backing that matches how you want the finished patch to be applied.

How Patch Making Works

E-Zee Badge Film is used during embroidery to create the patch itself. Once the patch is stitched, the excess film is removed and the finished patch can either be sewn onto the item or finished with heat seal backing.

Step 1

Hoop the Badge Film

Hoop E-Zee Badge Film by itself. For thread-only emblems, use two layers. For appliqué patches, use one layer.

Step 2

Embroider the Patch

Run the patch design on your embroidery machine. The satin outline stitch typically creates the finished patch edge.

Step 3

Remove Excess Film

Tear away the excess film from the finished satin stitch edge. Any small remaining pieces can be removed with controlled heat.

Step 4

Sew or Heat Apply

Sew the patch onto the item, or apply Heat Seal Nylon or Polyester backing to create a heat-bondable patch.

Common Uses

Uniform Patches

Create badges, department patches, name patches, staff patches, and branded uniform emblems.

Hats, Bags, and Accessories

Make patches for items that may be difficult to embroider directly, including caps, bags, backpacks, and specialty items.

Promotional Products

Produce branded emblems for businesses, events, clubs, schools, teams, organizations, and resale jobs.

High-Stitch Designs

Use patches when a design is too dense, heavy, or high in stitch count to run directly on the final garment.
